Terms & Conditions
Last Updated: 12 May 2025 | Effective: 12 May 2025
1. About These Terms
These Terms and Conditions govern the relationship between Pranee Legal ("we", "us", "our", "the Firm") and any person ("you", "the Client") who uses this website or engages our legal services.
Pranee Legal is a law practice operating in Bangkok, Thailand, at 73 Charoen Krung Road, Bang Rak, Bangkok 10500. By using this website or contacting us about our services, you agree that these Terms apply.
Where a formal engagement letter is issued, the terms of that letter govern the service itself. In the event of conflict, the engagement letter prevails over these Terms.
2. Nature of Our Services
Pranee Legal provides legal services relating to inheritance and estate matters in Thailand. Our three principal services are described on this website and may be summarised as:
- Inheritance Understanding Meeting — a private consultation to explain the estate and what lies ahead, including a written summary.
- Estate Filing Support — managed administration of estate filings and documents on your behalf.
- Full Inheritance Representation — complete handling of a contested inheritance matter through to resolution, including a closing report.
The precise scope of any service will be confirmed in writing prior to engagement. Nothing on this website constitutes legal advice or creates a lawyer-client relationship until a formal engagement letter is signed by both parties.
3. Fees and Payment
Fees for each service are listed on the website in Thai Baht (฿) and reflect the scope described. Final fees are confirmed in the engagement letter and may vary for matters that fall outside the described scope.
Payment terms are set out in the engagement letter. Unless otherwise agreed:
- A deposit may be required prior to commencement of work.
- Invoices are payable within 14 days of issue.
- All fees are stated exclusive of VAT and disbursements, which will be itemised separately where applicable.
The Firm reserves the right to pause work on a matter if invoices remain unpaid beyond the due date.
4. Client Responsibilities
To allow us to serve you well, you agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information relevant to your matter.
- Inform us promptly of any changes to your circumstances that may affect the matter.
- Respond to reasonable requests for documentation or instructions within agreed timeframes.
- Not withhold information that may be material to the outcome.
5. Confidentiality
We treat all information shared with us in the course of a matter as strictly confidential. Information will not be disclosed to third parties without your consent, except where required by law or professional obligation.
Confidentiality applies both during and after the engagement. Please see our Privacy Policy for information about how personal data is collected and handled.
6. Limitation of Liability
Our liability to you arises from the professional services described in the engagement letter. We do not accept liability for outcomes outside the scope of the agreed service or for decisions you make based on information obtained independently of our advice.
Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, or any liability that cannot be limited by law.
The content of this website is provided for general information only and does not constitute legal advice. You should not act on website content without first seeking professional guidance appropriate to your specific circumstances.
7. Intellectual Property
All content on this website — including text, layout, and design — is the property of Pranee Legal and may not be reproduced, distributed, or adapted without prior written permission. The documents and summaries we produce for you in the course of your matter are prepared for your personal use and may not be reproduced for commercial purposes.
8. Third-Party Links
This website may contain links to external resources. Pranee Legal does not endorse or accept responsibility for the content of third-party websites and recommends that you review their terms and privacy policies independently before relying on their content.
9. Termination of Engagement
You may end an engagement at any time by providing written notice. We will invoice for work completed to that point in accordance with the engagement letter.
We may withdraw from an engagement in limited circumstances — for example, if we cannot continue to act consistently with our professional obligations. Where possible, we will give reasonable notice and take steps to minimise disruption to your matter.
10. Governing Law
These Terms and any engagement with Pranee Legal are governed by the laws of Thailand. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Bangkok, Thailand.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The version in effect at the time of your engagement is the version that applies to that engagement. Material updates will be noted on this page with a revised effective date.
